"Give us some sauerkraut and potatoes and you can see what wonderful soup we will make"

Ingredients

  • sauerkraut - 10.5 oz (300 g)
  • potatoes - 2 - 3 pcs. medium - sized
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • leeks - 1 stalk /white part/
  • oil - 3 - 4 tbsp.
  • salt
  • paprika - 1 tbsp.
  • black pepper
measures

How to make

Finely chop the sauerkraut, by removing the tough parts.

Clean the carrot and leek and finely chop them.

Put about 2 liters of water in a suitable pot for boiling. Add the cabbage, leek and carrot and boil, until it's fully cooked.

10 minutes before the end of cooking, add the potatoes, which have been peeled and cut into cubes.

When the vegetables are fully cooked, season with salt, if needed. Add the black pepper.

In a separate pan, heat the oil and add the paprika. After the paprika changes its color slightly /becomes darker/, remove from the heat and pour it into the broth.

Return the pot back onto the heat and boil the cabbage soup for about another minute.

The soup with sauerkraut and potatoes is ready.
