Aspen /Populus tremula/ is a type of poplar, which is found in Asia and Europe. It grows mainly in mountainous areas and around rivers with altitude up to 2000 meters.

Aspen is a tree that reaches a height of 35 meters. A highly branched specimen and its trunk has a diameter of approximately a meter. Aspen has a strong central root and lateral roots. The bark of young branches of trees are brown-green, while older trees are highly fractured, and dark gray. The leaves of the branches of aspen are bright green on top and pale green on the underside. They reach a length of 3 to 12 cm long and have laterally flattened stalks.

The color of the leaves of aspen is purple or orange, depending on the climatic conditions in which the tree grows.

Flower buds of aspen are spherical and large, while the vegetables are sticky and elongated. The seeds of aspen are tiny, yellow-green in color.
