How to make

The butter is melted directly in a 20x30 cm (8x12 inch) baking dish.

The biscuits are arranged tightly next to each other over the melted butter to form the base. The grated apples are spread evenly on top, followed by coarsely ground walnuts, sugar and cinnamon.

In a separate bowl, the eggs are beaten with the sugar until fluffy. The flour and baking powder are added and mixed until smooth.

The batter is poured evenly over the apple filling. Additional walnuts can be sprinkled on top if desired.

The cake is baked in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 30-35 minutes, until golden and set.

Once removed from the oven, the apple and biscuit cake is dusted with powdered sugar before serving.

This easy apple and biscuit cake is a simple European-style dessert that combines pantry staples with fresh apples for a quick and comforting bake. Instead of a traditional pastry crust, crushed tea biscuits create a soft, slightly buttery base that soaks up the apple juices beautifully.

It’s an ideal dessert for busy families, potlucks or casual weekend baking. In the US, it pairs perfectly with vanilla ice cream, while in the UK it’s lovely served with custard or a cup of tea. Minimal effort, maximum flavor.
