How to make

If you already have leftover chocolate cake or brownies, this recipe is perfect for using them up. If not, prepare a simple brownie and use part of it for this dessert.

Place the raspberries in a small saucepan with the brown sugar (or honey) and lemon juice. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the berries release their juices and the mixture thickens slightly. Let cool completely.

In a bowl, combine the strained yogurt, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Assemble the trifle in glasses by layering in this order: raspberry mixture, yogurt cream, whole berries, pieces of chocolate cake or brownie, and another spoonful of raspberry mixture.

Chill the desserts for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Serve the chocolate and berry trifle topped with extra berries and fresh mint leaves.

Trifle is a classic British layered dessert that has become equally popular in the United States. Traditionally made with sponge cake, custard, fruit, and cream, modern versions often feature yogurt or mascarpone for a lighter twist.

This chocolate and berry trifle combines rich chocolate cake with fresh berries and creamy yogurt, creating a balanced dessert that’s indulgent yet refreshing.

Perfect for garden parties, BBQ gatherings, or casual summer dinners, individual glasses make serving easy and visually appealing.
