How to make
Put the butter and sugar in a bowl and beat, until a smooth mixture is obtained. Add the eggs one at a time, until they are completely absorbed into the mixture.
Add the milk, mashed bananas with lemon juice, salt, flour and baking soda or baking powder. This time I used whole grain rye flour.
Beat briefly, just enough to get a homogeneous mixture.
Finally, add the chopped walnuts and mix gently with a wooden spoon.
Transfer the banana bread mixture into a rectangular cake tin or sandwich bread mold. It must be greased with butter and sprinkled with brown sugar and flour in advance. Level out the top and pop it into a 360°F (180°C) oven with a fan.
Bake the delicious classic banana bread for about 45-50 minutes, or until it has risen nicely and acquires a golden color. Pierce the inside with a toothpick, if it comes out dry and clean, the banana bread is ready.
Wait 5-8 minutes, then remove the sweet bread from the mold and leave it cool before slicing it.
* This time I didn't wait for it to cool down and cut it quickly, because I couldn't wait, but don't do that :)
Serve the whole wheat banana bread with walnuts with a scoop of ice cream, sour cream or simply with a cup of aromatic coffee.
